Become a Mentor
Mentoring for the Programme
Gloucestershire Mentoring Programme is led by a partnership of four organisations working together to provide a single service. If you express an interest in becoming a mentor with us, we’ll seamlessly connect you a partner organisation in your local area. They will get in touch to arrange a chat and share next steps. All our mentors receive comprehensive training to ensure they’re well equipped at the start of their mentoring journey and ongoing support in their role.

What is it like
being a mentor?
Every mentoring relationship is different and meeting arrangements vary, depending on interests and preferences. Mentoring activities range from things like meeting for coffee and doing art activities to going for walks and cinema visits.
“It’s a heart-warming journey where I have the privilege of forming a special bond with my mentee. Every coffee chat and session is an opportunity to offer support, encouragement, and a listening ear. The joy comes not just from helping my mentee navigate challenges but witnessing their growth, resilience, and newfound confidence. GMP provides a platform where I can make a real, positive impact on someone’s life, fostering connections that go beyond mentoring. As a mentor, the experience is not just about guidance; it’s about being a source of inspiration and empowerment, and it fills my heart to be able to offer this kind of support to my young person.”
